India, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan

Cold Hardiness: 

22-25s, F.

Trunk type:

Medium (10-12 inches approximately) sized tan knobby trunk.  

Leaf type:

  This palm has long blue/green leaves.  The
  petioles (leafstalks) are armed with long spines.  It tends to make "skirt" of old dead leaves, unless you maintain the palm with trimming.

Easy

Moderate

Height:

35-40 feet.

General Description:

This is a nice Phoenix as it has some color and is not as big as the Canary Island date palm.  It does require maintenance (trimming), but is worth it for those who love Phoenix palms.

Other Notes:

This palm is an excellent choice for those who live in hot and cold areas.  This palm is tolerant of most soil conditions, but would prefer a quick draining soil.
