This palm has a medium sized trunk (8 inches approximately).  The trunk is adorned with old leaf bases which give this palm a unique look.

  This palm is a blue/gray fan.  The petioles are
  armed with spines.

Suckering/Solitary:

Solitary, single trunk.

Maintenance:

Easy to grow in most areas, likes somewhat dry conditions.

Speed of growth:

Slow to moderate.

Height:

20 feet

Soil requirements:

Likes sandy quick draining soil.

Sun Requirements:

Full sun.

General Description:

This is a very nice blue/gray Livistona.  One of the most dramatic things about this palm is its maroon colored flowers.  It is a great palm for people who live in colder areas as well as those who live in areas that get a lot of heat. 

Other Notes:

If you like this palm see Nannorrhops ritchiana, Brahea armata, Bismarckia nobilis, Pritchardia hildebrandtii and Latania lontaroides.
