Solitary (single trunk).

In tropical areas, quite easy.

Speed of growth:

Rapid in tropical areas

Variable depending on variety.  Up to sixty feet.

Sandy

Sun Requirements:

Full sun

General Description:

Beautiful tropical palm that is the prototype palm, known for its beauty.

Other Notes:

Large fruit that is edible and known as the "coconut".  This is a near impossible species to grow in Southern California.
