 Chambeyronia hookeri, the Blond flame thrower palm

Locality:

New Caledonia Island (East of Australia)

Trunk type:

Single trunk, smooth, crown shafted with a yellow-cream colored crown shaft.   

Leaf type:

Pinnate, thick leaflets with burgundy red color to the newly emerging leaf.  Just gorgeous!.

Somewhat slow

20 to 30 feet

Good drainage

Initially in filtered light, working its way into full sun.

General Description:

A very beautiful crownshafted palm with dark green pinnate leaves.  The treat is the new red leaf which turns to green over about a three to four week period. 

Other Notes:

Similar to Chambeyronia macrocarpa but with the yellow colored crown shaft.  Very sought after.
