Description

   

Locality:

Italy, France, Spain and Algeria

Cold Hardiness: 

 5-10 F.

Trunk type:

Medium 6-8 inches in diameter.  The trunk is
  also very fibrous and retains old leaf bases.

Leaf type:

Fan leaf.  The leaves have a blue (silver) color
  to them.

Suckering/Solitary:

 Suckering (multiple trunks).

Maintenance:

 Easy.

Speed of growth:

 Slow

Height:

 8-12 feet.

Soil requirements:

 Sandy and good drainage.

Sun Requirements:

 Full sun.

General Description:

 This is a great palm for hot and cold areas.  It   is tolerant of most extreme conditions.  It would  be a good plant for those who have   more extreme weather.  It can be grown along   the coast, but it prefers more heat.
