Locality:

Mexico and northern Central America

Cold Hardiness: 

28 to 30, F.

Trunk type:

Thin, single trunk; miniature species usually chest height or shorter

Leaf type:

Simple, bifid type

Suckering/Solitary:

Solitary, (single trunk).

Maintenance:

Easy, likes shade

Speed of growth:

Medium, remembering that it never gets tall

Height:

Head height, to six feet

Soil requirements:

Good drainage and ample water

Sun Requirements:

Shade or strong filtered

General Description:

A gorgeous small palm that looks good in clumps of multiple plants.  A nice "filler plant" for that special shady area.

Makes nice houseplant
